Day 1
Guest will be received at Chennai Airport/Chennai Railway Station. Check-in to the hotel and freshen up. Enjoy a traditional South Indian breakfast at the hotel. Visit Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a renowned Shiva Temple in Chennai known for its Dravidian architecture. The main deity of the temple is Lord Kapaleeshwarar (a form of Lord Shiva), and the goddess is Goddess Karpagambal (a form of Goddess Parvati). According to legend, Goddess Parvati worshipped Lord Shiva in the form of a peacock (‘Mayil’ in Tamil) at this site. Hence, the deity here is known as Kapaleeshwarar (‘Kapalam’ meaning peacock in Tamil). Devotees visit the temple seeking blessings for marital harmony, prosperity, and fulfillment of desires. Explore the temple complex and witness the rituals. Seek blessings at the temple. After visiting the Temple, visit Fort St. George, the first English fortress in India, which houses St. Mary’s Church and the Fort Museum. Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant offering authentic Tamil cuisine. In the evening, proceed to Marina Beach, one of the longest urban beaches in the world, for a relaxing stroll and witness the beautiful sunset. Have dinner at a beachside restaurant. Day 2
Check-out from your hotel after breakfast and embark journey to Mahabalipuram. The distance between Chennai to Mahabalipuram is approximately 57 kilometres and it takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach depending upon traffic conditions. En route, visit DakshinaChitra, a living museum of South Indian heritage and culture. Arrive in Mahabalipuram and check-in at the hotel. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mahabalipuram, including the famous Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penance and the Five Rathas. The Shore Temple is renowned for its exquisite Dravidian architecture, characterized by intricate carvings, ornate sculptures, and precision in design. The temple complex comprises three shrines, with two dedicated to Lord Shiva and one to Lord Vishnu. Arjuna's Penance, also known as the Descent of the Ganges, is an iconic bas-relief sculpture located in Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tamil Nadu, India. Arjuna's Penance is situated in a serene natural setting amidst the picturesque landscape of Mahabalipuram. The central theme of Arjuna's Penance revolves around a pivotal episode from the Indian epic, the Mahabharata, involving the hero Arjuna. However, the sculpture is commonly referred to as the Descent of the Ganges due to its depiction of a mythological tale associated with the descent of the sacred river Ganges from the heavens to the earth. The Five Rathas, also known as the Pancha Rathas, are a group of monolithic rock-cut temples located in Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram), a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Each of the Rathas is sculpted from a single piece of stone, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and artistry. Have your dinner at a seaside restaurant with a serene ambiance. Day 3
Begin your day with the breakfast at your hotel. Visit Kanchipuram, known as the “City of Thousand Temples,” famous for its silk sarees and ancient temples. In the afternoon visit Ekambareswarar Temple, one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalas dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple holds immense religious significance for devotees of Lord Shiva. It is believed that worshipping at this temple can grant blessings for marital harmony, fertility, and overall prosperity. Then explore Kailasanathar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the oldest temples in Kanchipuram. The primary deity of the Kailasanathar Temple is Lord Shiva, worshipped in the form of Kailasanathar, which means "Lord of Mount Kailash." was built during the Pallava dynasty in the 8th century by King Rajasimha, also known as Narasimhavarman II. It represents one of the earliest examples of Dravidian architecture in South India. The temple was constructed using sandstone, which allowed for intricate sculptural details and artistic expression. After visiting the temple, enjoy a traditional South Indian lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, return to Mahabalipuram. Explore any remaining attractions or relax on the beach. Day 4
Begin your day with the breakfast and check-out from your hotel. Depart for Tanjore. En route, visit the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. In the afternoon, arrive in Tanjore and check-in at the hotel. The distance between Mahabalipuram to Tanjore is 300 kilometre and it takes around 5 hours 35 minutes to reach, depending on traffic conditions. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening visit Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest temples in India. The temple is renowned for its architectural grandeur and is considered a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture. The central shrine, dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Brihadeeswarar (the Great Lord), is surrounded by a large compound with massive gopurams (gateway towers), pillared halls, and smaller shrines dedicated to various deities. The Brihadeeswarar Temple holds immense religious and historical significance for Hindus, particularly devotees of Lord Shiva. The temple continues to be a place of worship, pilgrimage, and cultural importance, attracting visitors from around the world. After visiting the temple, explore Tanjore Palace and Art Gallery. Have dinner at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel in Tanjore for overnight stay.

Begin your day with the breakfast. Depending on your departure time, you may have some free time for last minute shopping or sightseeing. In the afternoon Check-out from the hotel.
