Day 1
Guest will be received at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad / Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station and driven to the hotel. Check-in at your hotel and rest for a while or you can start exploring the city immediately. Begin your tour by visiting the beautiful monument, Charminar, most prominent landmark located right in the heart of Hyderabad. Among the most recognizable monuments in India, Charminar (char = four, minar = tower) is an ancient mosque built over 400 years ago by the Qutb Shahi dynasty after a plague forced them to shift their empire from Golconda to the new city of Hyderabad. The location of Charminar holds historical significance as well. It was built at the intersection of the bustling markets of Hyderabad, serving as a central point for trade and commerce during the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The monument derives its name from its four towering minarets, which are said to represent the four pillars of Islam. You will have a wonderful time exploring this wonder. Surrounding the Charminar, one can find a vibrant atmosphere filled with bustling streets, vibrant markets, and a mix of old and new structures.
Then you can head to Mecca Mosque, considered to be one of the best architectural works of the Qutb Shahis. It is one of the oldest and largest mosques in the city. It has a main hall capable of hosting 10,000 worshippers. Visit the impressive mosque to admire its water features, marble tombs, benches and huge arches. However, please note that, at present, only followers of Islam religion are allowed to enter the mosque. While non-Muslims aren’t permitted inside the mosque you can still experience the power of its symbolism and importance from the outside. From here you can imagine the main hall with its 23-metre (75-foot) high ceilings and the 15 brick arches that hold up the domed roof. The structure of the mosque is similar to that of Mecca Madina in Saudi Arabia. Further, you visit the Qutaub Shahi Tombs, consist of tombs of seven Qutub Shahi rulers. Considered to be few of the oldest monuments of Hyderabad, these tombs captivate their visitors with the architectural excellence presenting a beautiful blend of Persian and Indian architectural styles. You can see the influences of Hindu, Pathan, Deccan as well as Persian styles in the structure of tombs. These seven Qutub Shahi tombs are of varying sizes. Smaller tombs have single storey while the bigger tombs have two storeys.
Day 2
After breakfast, pay your visit to famous Birla Temple, famous for its impressive architecture. The building is made of 2,000 tons of pure white marble. It contains several shrines devoted to Hindu and Buddhist deities. Enter the temple through a tower, known as the Rajagopuram. This entrance tower was built in a traditional southern Indian style. Look up at the main tower over the shrine. It represents Orissan architecture from east India. The white marble for the whole temple was brought from Rajasthan in the northwestern part of the country. The Birla Mandir Temple is open to visitors daily, first in the morning and then again in the late afternoon until evening. Then you head to the Salarjung Museum, one of India's most prized historic institutions, preserving a huge range of ancient academic journals, rustic weaponry and precious royal items from throughout the ages. The collections include several Jade daggers belonging to Emperor Jahangir, Noor Jahan and Shah Jahan and the wardrobe of Tipu Sultan. Further, enjoy the boat ride at Hussain Sagar Lake. Renowned as Asia's largest artificial lake, Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the most popular tourist attractions located in Hyderabad. During your ride you can see the huge statue of Buddha standing on the 'Rock of Gibraltar' in the centre. Located near to Hussain Sagar, you can also relish the picturesque NTR garden.
