Day 1: Arrival in Colombo - Negombo

Depart from Cochin, India, to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, head to Negombo, a serene beach town close to the airport, ideal for relaxation after your flight. Explore the laid-back town of Negombo. Visit the Negombo Fish Market, one of the largest in the country, to see the local fishermen's daily catch and experience the bustling local life. Enjoy a leisurely walk along Negombo Beach, famous for its long sandy stretches and picturesque sunsets. Dine at a seaside restaurant to taste the local seafood delicacies.

Day 2: Negombo - Sigiriya – Habarana

Travel to Sigiriya. Visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its ancient palace ruins atop a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high. After descending, explore the Sigiriya Museum to learn about the site's history and significance. Then, proceed to Habarana, a small city in the heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle. Check into your hotel and relax. Optionally, take a safari ride in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Parks, known for their large gatherings of wild elephants.

Day 3: Habarana - Polonnaruwa - Dambulla

Visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its well-preserved ruins of palaces, temples, and stupas. Travel to Dambulla to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, with over 80 documented caves and remarkable mural paintings and statues. Return to Habarana for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Habarana - Kandy

Depart for Kandy, the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. Stop by a spice garden en route to see and learn about the spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a significant shrine that houses the tooth relic of the Buddha. Explore the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, known for its collection of orchids and royal palms. Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Travel to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka's "Little England," known for its cooler climate and colonial-era bungalows.
