Day 1
Guest will be received at Madurai Airport/ Madurai Railway Station. Check-in to the hotel and freshen up. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel or at a local restaurant. Try some authentic South Indian breakfast like idli, dosa, or pongal. Visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, located in the heart of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, is one of the most iconic and ancient temples in India. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi, an avatar of the Hindu goddess Parvati, and her consort Lord Sundareswarar, an avatar of Lord Shiva. Spend a couple of hours exploring the temple complex and learning about its history. Enjoy your lunch, some delicious Madurai cuisine, known for its spicy and flavorful dishes like Madurai chicken biryani or parotta with salna.
After the lunch visit Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, the palace was built in the 17th century by King Thirumalai Nayak, a notable ruler of the Nayak dynasty who reigned over the Madurai region. The most striking feature of the palace is its grand courtyard, known as the Swarga Vilasam or Celestial Pavilion, which is surrounded by massive pillars adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. The palace also features elegant arches, domes, and spacious halls that showcase the architectural prowess of the Nayak artisans. It's advisable to visit the palace during the daytime to fully appreciate its architectural details and explore its surroundings. Spend some time exploring the palace and its beautiful gardens. Day 2
At the early morning, check out from the hotel and depart for Rameshwaram, which is approximately 173 kilometers and it takes around 2 hours 56 minutes to reach, depending on traffic conditions. Arrive in Rameshwaram. Check in to your hotel and freshen up. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel or at a local restaurant. Guest will visit Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the most revered Hindu temples in the country. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama, along with his consort Sita and his brother Lakshmana, prayed to Lord Shiva at this site before embarking on their journey to Lanka to rescue Sita from the demon king Ravana. One of the unique features of Ramanathaswamy Temple is its sacred tanks, known as teerthams, where devotees perform ritual baths before entering the main sanctum. The most prominent teertham is the Agni Teertham, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, where pilgrims take a holy dip to cleanse themselves of sins. Non-Hindus are allowed to visit most parts of the temple except the inner sanctum. Explore the temple complex and take part in any rituals or ceremonies that may be taking place. In the evening visit Dhanushkodi Beach, a place of myth, history, and stunning natural beauty located on the southeastern tip of Pamban Island, near Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu, India. Dhanushkodi holds a special place in Indian history and mythology. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed to be the place where Lord Rama built a bridge (Rama Setu) across the sea to Lanka (present-day Sri Lanka) with the help of his army of monkeys, as recounted in the epic Ramayana. Spend some time relaxing on the beach or exploring the nearby areas. In the evening explore Pamban Bridge, situated near Rameshwaram Island in Tamil Nadu. The Pamban Bridge has emerged as a popular tourist attraction in Tamil Nadu, drawing visitors from far and wide to marvel at its architectural splendor and scenic beauty. Many tourists opt to walk or drive across the bridge to experience its grandeur firsthand. Take a leisurely stroll along the bridge and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Day 3
Begin your day early in the morning. Check out from your hotel after breakfast. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have some free time to explore any remaining attractions in Rameshwaram or do some last-minute souvenir shopping. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Rameshwaram. In the afternoon check-out from the hotel room. Tour ends and Guests will be driven back to the Pickup point.
