Day 1
Guest will be received at Kannur International Airport / or Kannur Railway Station and driven to the hotel in Kannur. Check-in at your hotel and rest for a while. Visit St. Angelo Fort, a historic fort in Kannur. Built with red laterite stones, the fort rests on a cliff situated beside the majestic Arabian Sea and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Explore Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, the longest drive-in beach in Asia and the only drive-in beach in the entire Kerala where tourists can drive up to a length of 4 km that offers an open road with no traffic and a stunning view. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which protect it from the strong currents of the ocean. With mild waves and shallow pools, the beach is also ideal for swimming. It is also a preferred spot for treating yourself to some amazing views of the sunset. Despite a tourist destination, the beach is a bird-watching hotspot too where one can find more than 30 species of migratory birds during the winter season. Day 2
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and depart for Wayanad, famous for its large amount of camping and trekking trails, breathtaking waterfalls, caves, bird watching sites, flora, fauna and an overall plethora of magnificent sights. Check-in at your hotel and rest for a while. The distance from Kannur to Wayanad is 113 km and it takes around approximately 3 hours 15 minutes drive. Visit Edakkal Caves, known for its mystic rock formation and ancient drawings and engravings. And these petroglyphs are some of the earliest examples of human writing and expression. To reach the entrance of Edakkal Caves Wayanad, you need to trek up and climb steep steps. Inside, you'll see ancient wall carvings, which depict animals, humans and other figures from prehistoric times. Edakkal Caves is worth a visit also for the breathtaking scenery. The drive to the caves, the trekking, and the views of the countryside from the top make up for a wholesome trip. Explore Soochipara Waterfalls, a breathtaking natural wonder amidst the lush green forests near Wayanad. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to experience Wayanad’s natural beauty in all its glory. The waterfall cascades down the rocks from about 200 meters. A natural pool is formed below the falls, with cool, clear water asking you to dip in it. It’s a mesmerizing and spellbinding sight. Tour Ends and Guests will be driven back to Hotel
Day 3
After Breakfast, Guests will be proceed to Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake is located in Wayanad district at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is the highest altitude freshwater lake in Kerala, and with an area of 5 hectares, it is the smallest too. Pookode Lake is also the point of origination for the Panamaram River, that flows through the valley to join Kabini River. People come to Pookode Lake for a family outing, boating and enjoying the serenity and peaceful ambience of the place. You can savour the views and watch the animals and birds coming to the lake from the surrounding forests. The lake is also home to lotuses and water lilies. Explore Banasura Sagar Dam, a picturesque tourist hotspot in Wayanad. Its sprawling reservoir of clear water is surrounded by lush green hills and it’s dotted with tiny islands. It’s the largest earthen dam in India. The dam, its reservoir and the small islands, against the backdrop of a majestic hill, form a calming visual. It’s an enchanting treat to the eyes. Trekking is the top attraction at Banasura Sagar Dam in Wayanad. Adventure enthusiasts love to trek in the nearby dark forests to reach the peak. The view of the expansive reservoir from the top is surreal. Tour Ends and Guests will be driven back to Hotel.
Day 4
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and depart for Kannur. The distance from Wayanad to Kannur is 113 km and it takes around approximately 3 hours 15 minutes drive. Kannur, a beautiful city bundled with a plethora of sightseeing options like beaches, monuments, ancient temples and picnic spots. En route, stop at Thalassery, a coastal town of Kerala nestled at the shore of Arabian Sea and immersed in the vibrant culture. Steeped in rich history and heritage, this town was one of the earliest British settlements in the state. Visit Tellicherry Fort, also knowns as Thalassery fort. The fort has a stunning entrance door, walls adorned with mural paintings, secret tunnels leading to the sea and gigantic, chiselled walls and doors. The fort also has a gallery with pictures of caves, monuments and ancient paintings. Using techniques which have stood the test of time, Thalassery fort was built using a mixture of quicklime, egg white and jaggery. Thalassery fort is a must-visit for a glimpse of the many colonial influences in Kannur.
Explore the Mahe region, which has a strong French influence, and visit the Muthappan Temple. The deity worshiped in this temple is Sree Muthappan, a personification of two Gods – Thiruvappana (Lord Vishnu) and Vellatom (Lord Shiva), who is said to have fought for the cause of the downtrodden and forsaken his entire life. His life is best portrayed through a traditional dance known as Muthappan Theyyam. Fish and toddy are the customary offerings to Muthappan and they are distributed here. The temple is also famous for Theyyam, a ritual art that is performed here on a daily basis. One of the interesting facts is that here dogs are considered to be sacred as it’s the vehicle of Lord Muthappan. Check into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and depart for Bekal. The distance from Kannur to Bekal is 78 km and it takes around approximately 2 hours 45 minutes drive. Check into your hotel in Bekal. Relax and freshen up. Visit Bekal Fort, a 400-year-old historical wonder which is a combination of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Set on the shores of the Arabian Sea, this is a must-visit destination for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and offbeat travellers. The beautiful walkway, illuminated beach and the grand architecture of the Bekal Fort make this place a favourite among the masses. Explore the fort's ramparts, underground tunnels, and enjoy panoramic views of the coastline. Relax at Bekal Beach, a splendid seashore. The view of the beach from the top of the fort is breathtaking. Other than the fort, tourists can also explore the rock garden which is situated only a kilometre away from the beach. The Rock Garden is an interesting garden to visit when on Bekal Beach. The garden consists of murals, sculptures and laterite boulders of various shapes and sizes arranged artistically to complement the theme of the beautiful garden. The best time to explore the beach is either in the morning or the evening time to avoid the hot afternoon sun. The beach is illuminated at its best after sunset and tourists can make the most of it in the evening. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6
After Breakfast, Guests will be proceed to Ananthapura Lake Temple, Kasargod, the only lake temple in Kerala. The rectangular lake, supplied with regular spring water, hosts this magnificent temple. It is considered the moolasthanam of Lord Ananthapadmanabha, the deity of the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The view of the hillocks from the temple is extremely famous. Babia, the vegetarian crocodile and temple guardian, is popular among visitors. The drive to the temple in itself is extremely peaceful and calming. Head to Kappil Beach, a beautiful beach-backwater destination. Sun-covered beach with golden sands, enclosed by the glittering waters of the Arabian Sea and thick groves of casuarinas trees, make this place a bewitching spot. The natural beauty and soothing atmosphere makes this place a favorite destination of those who like holidaying in a place which is free from the crowd. Relax on the beach, go for a boat ride, or simply enjoy the scenic beauty. Optionally, you can enjoy a houseboat cruise in the nearby backwaters, where you can relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for departure. Depending on your departure time, you can explore local markets for souvenirs or indulge in any last-minute activities. Transfer to Kannur International Airport or Kannur Railway Station for your onward journey.
