Visit Mannarasala temple, one of the most important centres of serpent worship in Kerala and is believed to be one of the largest such temples in the world. The temple is known for its association with serpent worship and rituals. The temple complex is nestled amidst a lush green forest, contributing to its tranquil and mystical ambiance. Within the temple premises lies a sacred grove filled with trees, believed to be inhabited by serpents. Devotees offer prayers and conduct rituals in this serene natural setting. Devotees believe that worship and offerings at the temple can bring about healing from ailments, fertility blessings, and protection from snake bites. Start your journey towards Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna Temple. It's approximately a 30-minute drive. Arrive at Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna Temple, a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple's main sanctum houses the deity of Lord Krishna in the form of a child, holding a butter pot (locally known as Ambalapuzha Palpayasam). The temple is renowned for its unique offering to Lord Krishna called "Ambalapuzha Palpayasam." One of the most famous legends associated with the temple revolves around the offering of 'paal payasam' (sweet rice pudding) to Lord Krishna. It is said that Guruvayurappan (Lord Krishna) once visited the temple in disguise and requested a devotee to prepare paal payasam for him. Even today, 'paal payasam' remains the main offering made to the deity at the temple and devotees consider it auspicious to receive a portion of it as prasad. Explore the temple complex and witness the rituals. Seek blessings at the temple. Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant near Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna Temple
Start your journey towards Chakkulathukavu Temple. It's approximately a 1-hour drive. Guest will arrive at Chakkulathukavu Temple by afternoon. Chakkulathukavu Temple is one of the most prominent and ancient temples in Kerala dedicated to Goddess Durga, who is worshipped here in her various forms, including Bhadrakali, Bhagavathi, and Rajarajeswari. The temple holds immense religious significance for devotees, particularly women, who visit to seek the blessings of the goddess for prosperity, fertility, and fulfilment of desires. The temple has a fascinating legend associated with its origin. According to mythology, a young girl named Chakkulathi once offered puffed rice (aval) to a hungry Brahmin woman who revealed herself to be Goddess Durga. The girl's humble offering pleased the goddess, who promised to reside in the place where the girl lived. Subsequently, a temple was built at the spot, and the deity came to be known as Chakkulathamma. Explore Chakkulathukavu Temple and participate in any rituals or ceremonies.
