Day 1
Guest will be received at Mangalore International Airport / Murudeshwar Railway Station. The distance from Mangalore International Airport to Murudeshwar is 158 kilometres and it takes around 3 hours to reach. Check-in to the hotel and freshen up. Start your day with a visit to the famous Murudeshwar Temple, magnificent shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple boasts of the second highest statue of Lord Shiva in the world. The main temple's entrance, also called the 'gopura' stands at 123 feet and you can witness the breathtaking view of the Shiva statue from the top of the gopura. The Shiva statue here is quite an impressive one and will surely leave you with a humble sense of tranquillity.
After visiting the temple, head to the nearby Murudeshwar Beach. Overlooking the monumental statue of Lord Shiva, this beach is the perfect picnic spot for families and loved ones. The sand of this beach is quite excellent, and its silky texture is not very common. Surrounded by gentle hills and lush green foliage, this beach is always bustling with activity. The beauty of this place is enhanced by the coconut trees which are indigenous to this location. You can spend some time relaxing on the beach or take a dip in the sea.
Next, head to Netrani Island, also known as the 'Pigeon Island'. This island is known for its coral reefs and is a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can take a boat ride to the island and spend a few hours exploring the underwater world. In the evening, head back to Murudeshwar and watch the sunset from the top of the Murudeshwar Fort. The fort offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding landscape.
Day 2
Begin your day with the breakfast at your hotel. Visit to the Kethapayya Narayan Temple, which is located about 5 km from Murudeshwar. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is known for its beautiful architecture and intricate carvings. Next, head to the Bhatkal Beach, which is located about 20 km from Murudeshwar. This beach is known for its calm waters and is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. After spending some time at the beach, head to the nearby Jog Falls, which is located about 70 km from Murudeshwar. Jog Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in India and is a must-visit attraction in the region. You can spend a few hours admiring the beauty of the falls and taking in the stunning views.In the evening, head back to Murudeshwar and spend some time shopping for souvenirs at the local markets. You can pick up some traditional handicrafts, jewelry, and other items to take back home as a reminder of your trip. Tour ends and the guest will be driven back to the pickup point.
