Day 1

Guest will be received at Tiruchirappalli Airport / Velankanni Railway Station. The distance from Tiruchirappalli Airport to Velankanni is 151 kilometres and it takes around 2 to 3 hours to reach. Check-in to the hotel and freshen up. Start your day with a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, also known as Sanctuary of Our Lady of Velankanni, is a Christian shrine located at the town of Velankanni, The shrine is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Tradition has it that the first Marian apparition appeared to a shepherd boy carrying a jug of milk for delivery. He was stopped by a beautiful woman holding a child in her arms who requested some milk for the young one. The shepherd boy readily gave her some and went on his way, only to discover that the jug was once again filled with fresh milk. Realising the identity of the woman and child, a small shrine was erected and named Matha Kulam, which translates to Our Lady’s Pool.  The second Marian apparition appeared to a young crippled boy selling buttermilk not far from Matha Kulam. He was stopped by a beautiful woman with a young boy in her arms who asked for some buttermilk. The boy’s mother asked the crippled lad to visit a gentleman in the next town and ask him to build a chapel in her honour at that very location. Without hesitation the boy rose and set out on his errand. It was then that he realised that he was no longer lame. Screaming with joy he beckoned the gentleman and conveyed the instructions. They rushed back to where the incident had occurred and put up a small thatched chapel and named it Arokia Matha or Our Lady of Health. Take your time to explore the stunning architecture and serene surroundings. 

In the afternoon, Visit the Velankanni Church Museum, to learn more about the history and culture of the region. It's a great way to spend some quality time together as a family. In the evening, head to the Velankanni Beach for a relaxing afternoon by the sea. Let the kids build sandcastles or take a leisurely stroll along the shore. Treat yourselves to some delicious seafood at a local restaurant. Velankanni is known for its fresh catch, so don't miss out on this culinary experience. 

Day 2

Begin your day with the breakfast at your hotel. Visit to the Morning Star Church, another beautiful church in Velankanni. Attend the morning mass for a spiritual experience. Have a picnic at the nearby Nagapattinam Beach, one of the most prominent tourism hotspots in Tamil Nadu. There is plenty to see and experience in the region. Pristine beaches, places of worship, picnic spots – Nagapattinam has it all. Besides, it also acts as a base for tourists who visit various nearby destinations like Velankanni and Sikkal. If you love beaches, then Nagapattinam is for sure a must-visit, bucket-list destination. Enjoy the scenic views and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Explore the local markets and pick up some souvenirs to remember your trip by. You'll find a variety of handicrafts and religious items to choose from. Take a boat ride along the backwaters of Velankanni for a peaceful and scenic experience. It's a great way to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Tour ends and the guest will be driven back to the pickup point.
