DAY 09 : Sightseeing in Paro
Start your day with a delicious meal at the hotel and be ready to explore the fun attraction in Paro. Your first destination for the day is the Rinpung Dzong Monastery. The place is the perfect example of marvellous Bhutanese architecture. It is built with precision one of its high points is that the structures here are interlocked firmly without the use of nails.
Your next destination is the Drukgyal Dzong Monastery. The place was once a fortress and a Buddhist monastery. But after the fire of 1950 it turned into a ruin. Although the ruins are also so beautiful that history lovers visit the place very often. This former fortress also provides a splendid view of the Chomolhari Mountains.
The last destination of Bhutan is the Tamchoe Monastery. This monastery is built between Paro and Thimphu and it dates back to the 15th century. It is perched atop a small hill and is built by the help of a small iron bridge. One can cross the iron bridge, which was once washed away in the flood of 1969.
Later on, head back to the hotel and start packing for your departure the next day.
