Day 1
Guest will be received at Calicut International Airport / or Calicut Railway Station and driven to the hotel in Kalpetta, Wayanad. The distance from Calicut International Airport to Wayanad is 75 kilometers and it takes around approximately 2 hours drive. Check-in at your hotel and rest for a while. Begin your Wayanad exploration in the evening with a visit to Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake is located in Wayanad district at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is the highest altitude freshwater lake in Kerala, and with an area of 5 hectares, it is the smallest too. Pookode Lake is also the point of origination for the Panamaram River, that flows through the valley to join Kabini River. People come to Pookode Lake for a family outing, boating and enjoying the serenity and peaceful ambience of the place. You can savour the views and watch the animals and birds coming to the lake from the surrounding forests. The lake is also home to lotuses and water lilies. Day 2
Proceed to a full day local sight-seeing. Visit Chembra peak, stands the highest peak of the Wayanad Hill Range- the Chembra Peak at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The Chembra peak offers a panoramic view of not only the entire Wayanad district but also a large chunk of Kozhikode, Malappuram and Niligiri districts. The peak, its surrounding lush greenery and the famed heart-shaped lake make it a paradise for travellers to explore. Then visit Meenmutty Falls, the second largest waterfall in Kerala. It is also one of the most thrilling and beautiful natural attractions in Wayanad. Nestled away in the lap of a jungle trek, the cascading waterfall of Meenmutty makes up for a dazzling view. Meenmutty offers an ideal place to lie back and relax away from the hustle-bustle of everyday life and experience a beautiful view of the sunset. The amalgamation of the lush green mountains, blue water of the surging fall and the backdrop of bright blue sky offers of stunning contrast for photography. Visit Lakkidi View Point, a high altitude offering a bird's eye view of the city. The thrill of driving up to the point is an experience in itself. Day 3
After Breakfast, you are off for a full day local sight-seeing. Begin your exploration with a visit to the historic Edakkal Caves, known for its mystic rock formation and ancient drawings and engravings. And these petroglyphs are some of the earliest examples of human writing and expression. To reach the entrance of Edakkal Caves Wayanad, you need to trek up and climb steep steps. Inside, you'll see ancient wall carvings, which depict animals, humans and other figures from prehistoric times. Edakkal Caves is worth a visit also for the breathtaking scenery. The drive to the caves, the trekking, and the views of the countryside from the top make up for a wholesome trip. In the afternoon, Visit Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala and comprises of rare as well as endangered species of both flora and fauna. It is surrounded by the protected areas of Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu as well as Nagarhole and Bandipur in Karnataka. The sanctuary houses a variety of animals such as herds of elephants and deer walking across the road or in the forests. The cat family including tigers and panthers too is present in the region. Langurs, bonnet macaques, monkeys, sambar, bison and bears too can be spotted in the sanctuary. Day 4
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and transfer to Coorg, known as the "Scotland of India." Enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way. The distance from Wayanad to Coorg is 129 kilometers and it takes around approximately 3 hours 45 minutes drive. On arrival at Coorg, check in to the hotel and freshen up. Relax amidst the tranquility of Coorg's coffee plantations. In the afternoon, visit Abbey Falls, one of the most popular tourist attractions in and around Coorg. The water cascade coming down from the cliff from a height of 70 feet provides a spectacular scene to behold. The walk to the falls from the main entrance has around 200 steps downwards throughout and takes you through exotic coffee, cardamom, pepper and other spice plantations. Even though bathing is prohibited in the falls now, there is an over-bridge opposite the falls to witness the beauty.
Explore Raja's Seat, one of the popular tourist spots, Raja seat literally means “Seat of the Kings”, located in the town of Madikeri, it is a beautiful place presenting a refreshing setting and soothing environment. The place is called as Raja’s Seat because it was the place where Coorg’s kings used to visit and enjoy the scenic beauty around. The sunset and sunrise make for a mesmerising view which is worth captivating in your cameras. Visit Madikeri Fort, the majestic fort offers tourists insights into the history of Coorg. The elevated structures of the fort also provide panoramic views of the town. Learn about its architecture and historical significance as you stroll through the fort complex. Then visit Omkareshwara Temple. The temple was built in the Muhammadan style of architecture consisting of a dome in center. Its four corners are surrounded by four turrets. Near the entrance door of the temple, a linga has been installed. Day 5
After Breakfast, visit Harangi Dam, an interesting tourist spot situated in the Hudgur village near Kushalnagar. It is a good place offering some seclusion and privacy as it is comparatively less crowded. Calm setting and cool gentle breeze makes your time even more enjoyable. Then visit Iruppu Falls, a picturesque waterfall cascading along the Brahmagiri Mountain Range in the Coorg. People come here to enjoy the blissful vicinity of nature, the grandeur of the falls and for also for its religious significance. The best time to visit the falls is during the monsoons when they are at their full capacity and hence become a breathtaking sight to behold.
In the afternoon proceed to Dubare Elephant Training Camp situated on the banks of River Kaveri. A popular tourist spots, the camp attracts tourists, especially wildlife enthusiast from all over the world. What makes this camp unique is the fact that tourists can participate in various activities with elephants which is three hour elephant interaction. They can indulge in activities like 45 minute bath where they are allowed to give bath to elephants in River Cauvery, feeding them with ragi, jaggery, sugarcane, banana and coconuts. After this, they can go on a 45 minute elephant ride into the jungle. Then visit Nagarhole National Park boasts of rich wildlife including both flora and fauna. Day 6
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and transfer to Mysore. The distance from Coorg to Mysore is 118 kilometers and it takes around approximately 2 hours 35 minutes drive. On arrival at Mysore check in to the hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon visit Tippu's Summer Palace, is the magnificent accommodation of the valiant ruler of Mysore- Tipu Sultan. One can take a good leisurely stroll across the balconies before entering the palace. One is bound to get a glimpse into the royal lifestyle of Tipu Sultan as they explore the palace. Then visit St. Philomena's Church, one of the most important historical sites in Mysore and is frequently visited by tourists from all over the country. Being one of the most distinctive landmarks of the city, it looks even more beautiful in the evening sky and is given religious importance having a Neo-Gothic style of architecture which makes it all the more famous amongst masses. In the evening visit Brindavan Gardens, spread over 60 acres. Built across the notable river of India, Cauvery, it took around five years to complete the project. Day 7
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and transfer to Ooty. The distance from Mysore to Ooty is 124 kilometers and it takes around approximately 3 hour 30 minutes to reach by road. Ooty- also known as Udhagamandalam, the "Blue Mountains "and the capital of Nilgiris district. Ooty is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Dotted with tea gardens, serene waterfalls, winding country lanes, and charming colonial architecture, Ooty is the perfect respite everyone. Popular among couples and honeymooners, Ooty allures its visitors with the panoramic views of the Nilgiri mountains. The city is abundant of crystal clear lakes surrounded by hills, creating the perfect ambience for the cool wind to hit your face and pull you into the exhilaration of being one with nature. Day 8
After breakfast, proceed to full day sightseeing in Ooty. Visit Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiris. Covered by dense sholas, this peak is trekkers favourite point. The view fro the top of the peak is absolutely mesmerising, there is a telescope house at the peak with two telescopes presenting captivating view of the valley around. Rich flora and fauna here add on to the overall charm of Doddabetta Peak. Explora Ooty Botanical Gardens, one of the most popular places to see in Ooty. Sprawled over an area of 22 hectares, the garden is divided into several sections that are trimmed beautifully to present an endearing sight. Enjoy a boat ride at Ooty Lake, one of the most refreshing and beautiful places to visit in Ooty. Ooty Lake is surrounded by Eucalyptus trees and greenery all around and is a great place to experience the beauty of this hill station. One can also spot numerous streams coming out through the hills. The lake is filled with beautiful water birds with the exotic Nilgiri mountain ranges in the background.
