Day 1: Arrival and Night Camping 

 2:00 PM: Arrive at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary check post. 

• Complete the check-in process. Receive a briefing on the schedule and safety guidelines. 

• Check-in and settle into your forest camp. The camp offers basic amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. 

3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Guided Trekking in the Forest Area. 

• Meet your guide and start the 3-hour trek through the sanctuary. 

• Discover the rich biodiversity, including various plant species, insects, and animals. Keep an eye out for deer, elephants, and possibly tigers, as well as unique flora. 

• Your guide will share insights about the ecosystem and conservation efforts. 

• Dinner at the Forest Camp at 7 PM. Relax and unwind at the camp. 

Day 2: Gavi Safari, Birdwatching, and Thekkady Boating 

6:30 AM - 9:30 AM: Gavi Safari. 

• Wake up early and embark on a thrilling 3-hour Gavi safari. Travel through scenic landscapes, encountering wildlife in their natural habitat. Spot elephants, sambar deer, and various bird species. Enjoy panoramic views of the sanctuary's lush greenery and serene lakes. 

• Return to the Camp for Breakfast. 

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Birdwatching Tour. 

• Join a guided birdwatching tour, covering a 3-kilometer trail. 

• Identify and observe numerous bird species, including Malabar grey hornbills, Nilgiri wood pigeons, and other endemic birds. 

• Lunch at the Camp. 

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Thekkady Boating on Periyar Lake. 

• Head to Thekkady for a scenic 3-hour boat ride on Periyar Lake. Cruise through the tranquil waters, surrounded by dense forest 

• Spot animals like elephants, bison, and deer coming to the lake for water. Capture stunning photos of the landscape and wildlife from the boat. 

5:30 PM: Departure from the Sanctuary. 

• Return to the checkpost, where your journey ends.

• Reflect on the memorable experiences and the beauty of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
