Day 1
Guest will go on-board a flight to Leh from Delhi airport. Check in at the hotel and freshen up. Now the day is at leisure but schedule the day to get acclimatized to the high altitudes of Leh, around 3542 m. The enchanting Leh town, one of the prime tourist attractions of India, boasts of a vivid landscape and engrossing culture. In the evening, visit to the local markets of Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel. While driving from Leh to Indus Valley, drive past Magnetic Hill- one of the wonders of the Himalayas. Just before the Indus valley, visit the Nimu Valley, famed for its barren yet enchanting landscape. If the weather permits, try your hand at rafting in River Indus. The next visit is to Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, lying on Leh-Nimu road. This Gurudwara has been built to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion to this region. Indus valley is not only known for its scenic beauty but also for offering excellent adventure opportunities. Tour ends and the guest will be driven back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel and check out. Travel to Nubra Valley. The distance from Leh to Nubra Valley is 160 kilometres and it takes around approximately 4 hours 30 minutes to reach. Visit the tri-armed Nubra Valley, tucked away on the north-eastern side of Ladakh. One of the most popular tourist destinations of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is dotted with a number of attractions. The view of the valley is picturesque and breathtaking. To reach Nubra valley, you will have to cross the awe-inspiring Khardung La, the highest motorable pass in the world. On arrival, check into the hotel and freshen up. Later leave for sight seeing. Do not miss taking a camel safari on the Hunder sand dunes. Next visit to Panamik village that has hot water Sulphur springs. Then proceed to Diskit Monastery/Diskit Gompa, the oldest and the largest monastery of Nubra. Tour ends and the guest will be driven back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel and check out. In the morning, visit Samstanling Monastery, a 19th century monastery is placed in an extremely serene ambiance. Later, begin your drive back to Leh. Drive past Khardung La, touted as the highest motorable road in the world. Check into the hotel in Leh, relax and freshen up. The day is at leisure. Indulge in the activities of your interest. Explore the nearby surroundings on your own. Interact with the locals to know more about their culture. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5
After the breakfast, checkout from the hotel. Today you are going to visit the serene environs of Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso. Drive past the high mountain pass of Chang La, placed at an altitude of 5360 m above the sea level. While driving towards the lake, drive through Durnuk and Tangtse villages and witness the daily activities of the locals of Changthang region. On arrival at Pangong Lake, set your camps here. The views around the lake are extremely enchanting and soothing. Spot colorful birds on the banks of Pangong. Do visit the local village in the vicinity to known about the local culture of Leh region. Overnight stay at the tents.
Day 6
Get out of bed early for clicking some memorable pictures. Early mornings near the lake offer some lifetime views that must be captured in the camera. Later, begin your drive back to Leh. Check into the hotel, relax and freshen up. Firstly visit Shanti Stupa, a magnificent white-domed Buddhist monument located atop a steep hilltop at a dizzying height of 11,841 feet. It is also popular amongst tourists as it offers a sweeping view of Leh and the nearby Changspa village. Shanti Stupa looks exceptionally beautiful during the full moon night when it is naturally illuminated by the moonlight. Shanti Stupa is a perfect getaway for both- those looking to obtain peace from offering prayers to God and those waiting to be mesmerized by nature's wondrous beauty. Then visit Leh Palace, former royal palace and one of the central attractions in Leh. The nine-storey dun-coloured palace now houses a museum and a prayer room, while the highlight is the sweeping view of Leh and the surrounding Zanskar mountain from the rooftop. Then visit Hall of Fame Museum, a museum was built in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India at the Indo-Pakistan war. Day 7
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel. Today you are visiting the popular monasteries of Leh. Visit Thiksey Monastery, the most beautiful monastery in all of Ladakh. It is considered as the largest monastery in central Ladakh. The monastery is famous for its architecture and its location. The 12 storey monastery has 10 temples, an assembly hall, and is home to 120 monks and nunnery. Then visit Hemis Monastery, believed to be the biggest and the richest monastery of Ladakh and is hidden inside a gorge-like formation. The monastery houses a copper-gilt statue of Lord Buddha, numerous stupas made of gold and silver, sacred thangka paintings, and other objects of religious importance. Then visit Spituk Monastery, also known as Pethup Gompa, one of the top places to visit in Ladakh, perched on a hilltop with a view of the alluring Indus River. The monastery, which combines spirituality and beauty in an inspiring and humbling way, is a potent symbol of Ladakhi heritage. Next visit Shey Monastery, reckoned as one of the popular monasteries in Leh Ladakh. Also known as Shey Palace or Shey Gompa, the monastery is famous for housing a 3-storeyed huge copper with gilded gold idol of seated Shakyamuni Buddha. The statue is counted as the second largest idol in Ladakh. Finally visit Stakna Monastery, also known as “Tiger’s Nose Monastery”. This is because the rock on which the monastery is located resembles a tiger leaping up to the sky. The monastery houses almost 30 monks belonging to the Dugpa order. Visiting the monastery lets you explore the cultural heritage of Buddhism and also enjoy the panoramic views of the surroundings from the monastery.
