Day 1: Arrival 

 Arrival at Eravikulam National Park Entrance 

• Reach the park entrance early to avoid the crowds. The park opens at 7 :30 AM. 

• Purchase entry tickets and get a map of the park from the information center. 

Rajamalai Region 

• Take the park shuttle from the entrance to the Rajamalai region, the main tourist area. 

• Enjoy a scenic ride through lush landscapes and tea plantations. 

Trek to the Anamudi Peak Base

• Begin a guided trek towards the base of Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. 

• The trek offers breathtaking views of rolling grasslands, shola forests, and diverse flora and fauna.

• Keep an eye out for the Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered mountain goat endemic to this region.

 Wildlife and Flora Observation

• Spend time at designated observation points along the trek.

• Learn about the unique ecosystems and spot various bird species and butterflies.

• Enjoy the panoramic views of the Western Ghats.

Return Trek 

• Head back to the Rajamalai region base.

• Take your time to capture photos and soak in the natural beauty.

• Enjoy a picnic lunch at the park’s designated picnic area.

Visit to the Eravikulam Interpretation Centre 

• Visit the Interpretation Centre near the park entrance.

• Learn about the history, biodiversity, and conservation efforts of Eravikulam National Park through exhibits and displays.

Explore the Kurinji Trail 

• Embark on a guided walk along the Kurinji Trail, named after the famous Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once every 12 years.

• Discover various medicinal plants and other endemic species of the Western Ghats.

• Learn about the cultural and ecological significance of the Kurinji flowers.

Final Sightseeing and Departure 

• Take a final stroll around the Rajamalai area.

• Capture the golden hour light for stunning photographs.

• Return to the park entrance via shuttle bus.

Depart from Eravikulam National Park 

• Head back with memories of a day well spent in one of Kerala’s most beautiful natural reserves.

• If time permits, you may explore the nearby town of Munnar for some local shopping or visit a tea museum.
