Day 1
Guest will be received at Calicut International Airport / or Calicut Railway Station and driven to the hotel. Check-in at your hotel and rest for a while. Start your exploration by visiting Kozhikode Beach. Kozhikode Beach is also known as the Calicut Beach and is situated on the Malabar Coast. The beach is ideal for witnessing the orange sunsets in Calicut. Also, the market near is a large shopping spot and attracts a lot of tourists. Water activities like Swimming, diving, and boating here give a breathtaking view of Calicut's coastline. Water Skiing, Paragliding, Snorkeling and Jet Skiing are some water sports giving you the goosebumps on your visit. Enjoy the tranquility of the morning sea breeze, witness the fishermen setting out to sea, and take a leisurely walk along the sandy shores. Head to a local restaurant to savor some authentic Malabar cuisine. Delight your taste buds with flavorsome dishes like Kozhikode Biryani, Malabar Parotta, and fresh seafood specialties.
Stroll through the vibrant lanes of S.M. Street. The SM Street ( Mittai Theruvu) , a famous spot to feast on sweet yummy snacks,is one of Calicut's busiest shopping spots. It stays open until 9 pm at night. The stores on SM Street sell everything that suits your requirements, from sweets to spices, clothing to electronics, or handlooms to textile products. Tour Ends and Guests will be driven back to Hotel.
Day 2
After Breakfast, Guests will be check out from the hotel and depart for Wayanad and and embark on a scenic drive to Wayanad. The distance from Kozhikode to Wayanad is 84 kilometres and it takes around approximately 3 hours drive. Begin your Wayanad exploration with a visit to the historic Edakkal Caves, known for its mystic rock formation and ancient drawings and engravings. And these petroglyphs are some of the earliest examples of human writing and expression. To reach the entrance of Edakkal Caves Wayanad, you need to trek up and climb steep steps. Inside, you'll see ancient wall carvings, which depict animals, humans and other figures from prehistoric times. Edakkal Caves is worth a visit also for the breathtaking scenery. The drive to the caves, the trekking, and the views of the countryside from the top make up for a wholesome trip. Spend the afternoon amidst nature at Soochipara Waterfalls, a breathtaking natural wonder amidst the lush green forests near Wayanad. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to experience Wayanad’s natural beauty in all its glory. The waterfall cascades down the rocks from about 200 meters. A natural pool is formed below the falls, with cool, clear water asking you to dip in it. It’s a mesmerizing and spellbinding sight.
Conclude your day with a visit to Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake is located in Wayanad district at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is the highest altitude freshwater lake in Kerala, and with an area of 5 hectares, it is the smallest too. Pookode Lake is also the point of origination for the Panamaram River, that flows through the valley to join Kabini River. People come to Pookode Lake for a family outing, boating and enjoying the serenity and peaceful ambience of the place. You can savour the views and watch the animals and birds coming to the lake from the surrounding forests. The lake is also home to lotuses and water lilies. Enjoy a serene boat ride on the tranquil waters of the lake, surrounded by lush greenery and mist-clad hills. Tour Ends and Guests will be driven back to Hotel.
Day 3
After Breakfast, Embark on an early morning safari at the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala and comprises of rare as well as endangered species of both flora and fauna. It is surrounded by the protected areas of Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu as well as Nagarhole and Bandipur in Karnataka. The sanctuary houses a variety of animals such as herds of elephants and deer walking across the road or in the forests. The cat family including tigers and panthers too is present in the region. Langurs, bonnet macaques, monkeys, sambar, bison and bears too can be spotted in the sanctuary. Keep your camera ready to capture glimpses of elephants, deer, monkeys, and various bird species in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, visit the impressive Banasura Sagar Dam, a picturesque tourist hotspot in Wayanad. Its sprawling reservoir of clear water is surrounded by lush green hills and it’s dotted with tiny islands. It’s the largest earthen dam in India. The dam, its reservoir and the small islands, against the backdrop of a majestic hill, form a calming visual. It’s an enchanting treat to the eyes. Trekking is the top attraction at Banasura Sagar Dam in Wayanad. Adventure enthusiasts love to trek in the nearby dark forests to reach the peak. The view of the expansive reservoir from the top is surreal. Opt for optional activities such as boating or trekking around the dam area. Conclude your day with a visit to Meenmutty Waterfalls. Meenmutty Waterfalls is the second largest in Kerala. It is also one of the most thrilling and beautiful natural attractions in Wayanad. Nestled away in the lap of a jungle trek, the cascading waterfall of Meenmutty makes up for a dazzling view. Meenmutty offers an ideal place to lie back and relax away from the hustle-bustle of everyday life and experience a beautiful view of the sunset. The amalgamation of the lush green mountains, blue water of the surging fall and the backdrop of bright blue sky offers of stunning contrast for photography. Day 4
After Breakfast, Begin your day with a visit to Thirunelli Temple. The Thirunelli Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the Lord Maha Vishnu, surrounded by pleasing hills and lush green forests. Admire the architectural beauty of the ancient temple and partake in the serene ambiance of the surroundings. In the afternoon, explore the cultural heritage of Wayanad at the Wayanad Heritage Museum, also known as the Ambalavayal Heritage Museum, is an archaeological museum that has an impressive collection of artefacts belonging to the tribes of the region. This archaeological museum is divided into four sections namely: Devasmruthi, Gothrasmruthi, Veerasmruthi and Jeevenasmruthi. Each block houses various items that display the simplicity and intelligence and the rustic way of the living of the bygone era. From stones of primitive wars and tiger hunts to admiring stone idols of 12th to 16th century and belongings of Wayanad tribe, the museum brings alive the past of our country in a very special way. Discover artifacts, relics, and exhibits showcasing the rich history and heritage of the region, including tribal artifacts and archaeological findings. Spend your final evening in Wayanad shopping for souvenirs and local handicrafts. Explore the nearby markets and shops, where you can purchase spices, tea, handwoven textiles, and traditional Kerala handicrafts as mementos of your trip.
